Peter is owner of the Peter Stern Golf, located at Mill Pond Golf Course in Medford, NY, 65 miles east of Manhattan. A native Long Islander, Peter has been teaching golf for more than 20 years, working alongside and learning from some of the game’s best coaches, including noted short game specialist Dave Pelz and World Golf Teachers Hall of Famer Jim Flick.

Peter is owner of the Peter Stern Golf, located at Mill Pond Golf Course in Medford, NY,  65 miles east of Manhattan. A native Long Islander, Peter has been teaching golf for more than 20 years, working alongside and learning from some of the game’s best coaches, including noted short game specialist Dave Pelz and World Golf Teachers Hall of Famer Jim Flick.

Peter’s love for coaching began as an assistant at the Dave Pelz Scoring Game School in Boca Raton, Fla., where he attended college at Lynn University. After two years as an assistant with Pelz, he went onto teach at the Nicklaus-Flick Golf Schools at the Golden Bear Golf Center in Cypress Creek, Fla., before returning home to Long Island in 2002 and opening up the Peter Stern Golf Academy. Peter also served as a GOLF Academy Lead Instructor with the GOLF Academy with Kelley Brooke at Bethpage Black Golf Course, home of the 2019 PGA Championship. In the wintertime, Peter teaches out of Simplay’s multi-sport simulator facility in Hauppauge.

Among his many professional accomplishments include being named a Top 5 Golf Instructor by New York Golfing Magazine. A certified club fitter, Peter has also appeared as a featured instructor on Golf Channel, ESPN Radio, XM Radio and inNewsday and Long Island Golf News. He is certified by both K-Motion and TrackMan.

Mill Pond Golf Course is an 18-hole links style layout reminiscent of classic Scottish courses situated on over 200 acres of land in Suffolk County, NY, just north of the Long Island Expressway some 65 miles east of Manhattan. The vast practice facility features a full grass driving range with 25 hitting mats, eight green targets and a 30-foot synthetic turf teaching area. There’s also a dedicated short game area with two putting greens and a practice bunker. State-of-the-art technology includes V1 Video Swing Analysis and a Ernest Sports ES14 launch monitor.
