Ward is owner of High Performance Golf in Lexington, KY. A three-time winner of the Kentucky PGA Teacher of the Year award (2011, 2012, and 2015), Ward has been teaching golf for more than 18 years. He has conducted more than 20,000 golf lessons and 1,500 club fittings and, as of last Fall, had two students ranked among the Top 100 collegiate players in the U.S., and six in the Top 300. His students, which include aspiring junior athletes, mini-tour players, and high school and college players, won more than 100 tournaments in 2014, with six garnering All-State honors and nine others winning separate club championships.

Ward believes in a fundamentally heavy approach to coaching utilizing the following TPPM Basic Formula—Technical Training, Physical Training, Proper Equipment, and Mental Training/Goal Setting. He was formerly the lead instruction writer for Pub Links Magazine and is the author of the book, “The Practice Guide.”

The academy is housed in a spacious, climate-controlled teaching building at a full-size range with multiple bays for indoor-to-outdoor hitting plus space for putting inside. There is also an extensive grass tee for outdoor practice. A complete club repair shop is located inside the academy building.

Over a distinguished golf career that includes Rookie of the Year honors on the LPGA Tour in 1980, Myra has developed great expertise in golf skills development and tournament play. She coached the University of Kentucky Lady Wildcats team from 2007-2010, returning them to postseason play for the first time in a decade.

Grover Justice

 Grover is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he won five individual collegiate tournaments for the men’s golf team. He toured professionally for six years on various mini tours, and was the low professional in the Kentucky Open three times. Grover believes the foundation of the swing consists of solid fundamentals.
Lexington golf coach Tyrus York

Tyrus York

Honored in 2014 as the Kentucky PGA Teacher of the Year, Tyrus recently took over as the head coach of the women’s golf team at Transylvania University. A collegiate player himself, Tyrus has helped many juniors achieve their goal of playing NCAA golf. His professional certifications include SeeMore Putting Institute and K-Vest (Level 2).
