A Life Member/Past Champion of the PGA Tour and Life Member of the PGA of America, David played on the PGA Tour from 1983 to 2000 and also competed on the Champions Tour and European, Asian, Canadian and South African tours.

David is the Director of Instruction for the David Ogrin Golf Academy in New Braunfels, Texas, located about 30 miles northeast of San Antonio. A Life Member/Past Champion of the PGA Tour and Life Member of the PGA of America, David played on the PGA Tour from 1983 to 2000 and also competed on the Champions Tour and European, Asian, Canadian and South African tours. Ogrin’s official PGA Tour win came at the 1996 LaCantera Texas Open in San Antonio, where he defeated Jay Haas by one shot and Tiger Woods by two. In more than 500 starts on Tour, he had 32 top-10 finishes.

After his playing career was over, David set out to become a leader in player development and performance coaching. He is a graduate of the VISION54® Coaching for the Future program and holds certifications with, among others, Fluid Motion Factor, Putting Zone and Operation36. Ogrin has been teaching golf for 15 years now.

Prior to opening his academy, Ogrin served as the Director of Instruction for the Alamo City Golf Trail and spent two years as the Director of Instruction at Topgolf San Antonio. He also spent one year as an assistant golf coach at Texas Lutheran University and was Director of Instruction at Three Crowns Golf Club in Casper, WY. Ogrin is a graduate of Texas A&M University and also has one course design to his credit, High Meadow Golf Club in Magnolia, TX, which he designed with golf course architect Tim Nugent.

The David Ogrin Golf Academy is a fully lit practice facility (open till 10 p.m.) featuring grass and matted teeing areas that will accommodate approximately 60 golfers, two putting greens (one synthetic and one TifEagle Bermudagrass), a chipping area and practice bunker. State-of-the-art technology includes a FlightScope Xi Tour Launch Monitor, K-COACH swing analysis software and Blast Motion Stroke and Swing Sensor. Private and group lessons are available for both adults and juniors, including on-course playing lessons, as well as a New Student Assessment and Get Golf Ready program.
