Kendall is founder of the Kendall Academy of Golf at Miles of Golf in Ann Arbor, MI. The No. 2 instructor in Michigan in Golf Digest’s Best in State rankings (2013-’14), Kendall has twice been recognized as the Michigan PGA Teacher of the Year (2000, 2004) and Michigan PGA Golf Professional of the Year (1990, 2006). He is also a recipient of Ferris State University’s Bill Strausbaugh Award, named for the World Golf Teachers Hall of Famer and long-time golf professional who passed away in 1999, and the Michigan PGA’s Horton Smith Award (2010) for contributions in PGA professional education.

An accomplished player, Kendall has won two Michigan Senior Open Championships. In 2007, he captured Michigan’s Senior Open and Senior PGA Championship, and was awarded Michigan PGA Senior Player of the Year honors. Kendall has taught golfers of all skill levels for more than 30 years.

This 27-acre practice facility in Ann Arbor—about an hour’s drive west of Detroit—has a full 100 tee spaces (42 of them covered and heated). Quality synthetic mats, an excellent putting green (free) and grass tees make for a positive practice experience. The teaching studios are heated and protected from the elements yet allow players and instructors to see the full flight of the ball. The Players Club, at the far end of the range, features putting, chipping, bunkers and grass tees, for use by members.

A Kentucky native, Michael has 10-plus years of coaching experience. The winner of multiple tournaments as a junior, Michael went on to Eastern Kentucky University where he was a member of the inaugural class of EKU’s Professional Golf Management Program. Michael helps students find their swing while tailoring each lesson to their needs.

Paul Haase

A veteran of the Kendall Academy staff since 1998, Paul was named Michigan PGA Teacher of the Year in 2008 and currently ranks No. 12 on Golf Digest’s list of the Best Teachers in Michigan. Paul and student Bill Zylstra have teamed on three occasions to win the Michigan PGA Senior Pro/Senior Am.

Tom Harding

A former golfer at Michigan State, Tom was named the Michigan PGA Player of the Year in 1997 and 2002. He played in the Buick Open on the PGA Tour twice and won the 1991 Canadian PGA Championship. A PGA member since 1995, he was voted one of Michigan’s Best Teachers in 2011.

Scott Hayes

A former captain on the University of Michigan’s men’s golf team and professional mini-tour player, Scott was voted to Golf Digest’s list of the Best Teachers in Michigan in 2006. He teaches private and group lessons, golf schools and junior camps for the Kendall Academy. He also has extensive club fitting experience.

Nick Ma

Nick came to the Kendall Academy from Clearview Golf Club in New York, where he served as General Manager. He also had stints at Mansion Ridge Golf Club and Pelham and Split Rock Golf Courses, and directed the New York City Parks & Recreation Golf Program. Nick is fluent in Korean and English.

Sandy Wagner

Sandy recently retired as Head Women’s Golf Coach at Eastern Michigan University, where she twice earned MAC Coach of the Year honors, and has 20-plus years’ experience as a teaching professional honing her craft. Her professional playing accomplishments include top-10 finishes in the Michigan Women’s Open in 2000 and 2001.

Patrick Wilkes-Krier

Patrick played professionally for eight years before joining the Kendall Academy staff in 2015. He competed primarily on the NGA Hooters Tour, earning 2010 Most Improved Player honors. A former captain and Academic All-American at Ball State, Patrick has extensive knowledge of all facets of the game from course management to the short game.

Jim Yuhas

Jim joined the Kendall Academy at Miles of Golf in December 2009 and has served as Director of Instruction since 2012. His extensive equipment knowledge comes from over 18 years’ experience in custom club fitting and repair. He also has broad experience in golf operations as an Assistant and Head Professional.

Zach Theut

A graduate of Ferris State University’s PGA Golf Management Program, Zach recently joined the Kendall Academy of Golf after spending several years teaching with Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson at VISION54. A Trackman Level 1 Certified Professional, Zach has been a Michigan Special Olympics Golf Coach and an instructor at Chris Foley Golf Schools.
