Brech is the Owner and Director of Instruction of the Barton Creek Golf Academy in Austin, TX. A Class A PGA Member, Brech is the former Lead Instructor at the Chuck Cook Golf Academy. Cook is revered as one of the top instructors in the game today, ranking No. 5 on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 50 Best Teachers.

Brech has been nominated multiple times for Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers list, and currently ranks 17th in the state of Texas in Golf Digest’s Best in State rankings. Known for his work with elite juniors, Brech’s students have gone on to earn scholarships at such topflight programs as Wake Forest, Texas, Arizona, and Texas Tech. His students have been ranked as high as No. 1 and 2 in the state of Texas, as well as Top 10 in the country in the AJGA Polo Rankings.

Spradley’s expertise is in the full swing and short game, but he’s been teaching all aspects of the game, including the mental game and golf fitness, for 21 years now. His instructor certifications include: GolfPsych, FlightScope, Golfing Machine, K-VEST, SAM PuttLab, TPI Golf Fitness, and AimPoint Express Green Reading.

The Golf Academy features three world-class instructional facilities at the Fazio Canyons complex. The Learning Center at the back of the Fazio Canyons driving range is a full-swing facility with natural turf to hit from plus five covered hitting bays and two bunkered practice greens. The Short Game Academy is a five-acre complex with a practice putting green, two undulating greens with greenside bunkers and fairway-cut lies from up to 75 yards away. The adjacent Short Game Clubhouse is a player lounge with day lockers, a large screen television for video analysis and an outdoor deck with refreshments.

A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Joey graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a degree in Business and Political Science. He has played competitively for 15 years and is currently a PGA apprentice, working with the Academy’s junior programs and also teaching adult golfers of all skill levels.

Barbara Pruett

 Well-known for her tournament prowess, she is a former Texas Women’s State Champion and six-time Austin City Women’s Champion. The Austin-American Statesman newspaper named her Golf Teacher of the Year in 1989. Barb, a former student of legendary coach Harvey Penick’s, has also written many articles on the subjects of golf etiquette and women’s golf.
