Chamblee talks Ryder Cup, Tiger with GCA’s Herring

Golf Channel Academy lead coach Virgil Herring had a special guest on his “Talking Golf with Virgil Herring” radio broadcast this past Saturday on 104-5 The Zone in Nashville. Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee, a studio analyst for Golf Central as well as an analyst for the network’s Live From programming, joined Herring as part of his hour-long series on the “Most Influential People in the Game of Golf”.

Herring and Chamblee, a former PGA Tour winner who left the Tour in 2003 to join Golf Channel, discussed a number of different topics during the nearly hour-long discussion, including:

  • This weekend’s Ryder Cup Matches and the Tiger-Phil Dilemma facing U.S. captain Jim Furyk (in the seven previous Ryder Cups they both competed in, the U.S. is 1-6)
  • Tiger’s recent return to form and amazing journey back from four back surgeries and other personal demons

“The total transformation from where Tiger was in 2017 to where he is today is nothing short of the greatest comeback of all time.” —Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee

  • Chamblee’s inspiration for writing The Anatomy of Greatness, the 2016 New York Times bestseller that explores the most common swing positions of the greatest players in the history of golf, including Woods
  • Chamblee’s own journey back to competitive golf (Chamblee made his PGA Tour Champions debut this past July at the Senior Open Championship at St. Andrews)
